Introduction
Enrich your Sidekick presentations by adding various elements such as images, text, and videos to your slides. This guide provides a step-by-step breakdown of these processes for creating more engaging and dynamic presentations:
Adding an Element to Your Slide:
1. Starting with a Blank Presentation
Open your presentation in Sidekick and navigate to the slide you wish to edit.
2. Adding an Image
Double-click on the slide and select the 'Add Element' button.
Images:
3. Choose the 'Image' option.
You can either drag an image directly from your finder or click on 'Upload a File' to select a JPEG or PNG file from your computer.
Once uploaded, the image will appear on your slide.
4. Customizing the Image
The uploaded image can be moved, resized, and adjusted in terms of layering (forward or backward) to integrate with other elements like text and videos.
Text:
3. Choose the ‘Text’ option.
Enter your text in the provided space.
4. Formatting the Text
Customize the font, size, style (bold, italics, underline), and alignment (left, center, right) as you would in a standard word processing software.
You can also copy and paste the text element within the slide and change its color.
Videos:
Please note: in order to play your own video in Sidekick, we recommend uploading the video to your own YouTube of Vimeo account and setting the privacy settings for the video to "unlisted." This will still allow you to copy the link to the video so you can continue to the next step.
We are currently working on a solution that will allow users to upload their videos to the Sidekick servers, which will provide a much more user-friendly experience. We anticipate this feature being available by January 2024.
3. Choose the ‘Video’ option.
Paste the YouTube or Vimeo video link in the text box and click ‘Add Video.’
4. Video Settings
You can configure the video to auto-play when the slide opens or set it to loop continuously.
You can test the video by unmuting and hitting the play button.
Just like images, videos can be moved, resized, and adjusted in terms of layering (forward or backward) to integrate with other elements like text and images.
